This is one of the few professional courses available in environmental management, this NEBOSH diploma level qualification is aimed at health and safety practitioners who have responsibility for environmental management for their workplace.
By the end of the course all delegates will be able to demonstrate environmental excellence and social responsibility. You will know how to effectively manage environmental issues for an organisation. Key areas covered include sustainability, global environmental issues, completing environmental aspect and impavct assessments, the implications of not managing environmental issues sufficiently along with specific environmental aspects including air, water, land, energy and waste management.
Those holding the NEBOSH National Environmental Diploma can apply to be a non-chartered Member of CIWEM (MCIWEM) once they have achieved their qualification. Holders of this qualification can use the designatory letters EnvDipNEBOSH after their name.
Taught over two units, delegates will need to complete a three hour exam and a comprehensive work-based project to successfully complete the course. This will need to be achieved within five years of enrolling on an accredited course.
Enrolment fees are included in the cost of your course. Unfortunately we are not able to provide this course as a taught course but are able to offer this qualification via distance learning. NEBOSH Open learning

The course consists of two units, ED1 which is the taught syllabus with a three hour written examination, and NDEM2 which is includes an overview of UK Environmental legislation and is assessed via a comprehensive work based project.
ED1 – Controlling Environmental Aspects
NDEM2
The NDEM2 is a formal assignment set by Nebosh where candidates have to demonstrate their knowledge and practical application of some of the important subjects from Units ED1 and NDEM2. The assignment requires the completion of a 10,000+ word vocational based report which must show that the candidate has both the knowledge and skills to apply the issues taught in a workplace of their choice.
This assignment is marked by Nebosh examiners with four submission dates a year in February, May, August and November for delegates to work towards.
This is one of the few professional courses available in environmental management, it is aimed primarily at health safety practitioners, who either have responsibility for environmental management or those whose role interlinks with that of the environmental manager. However, it is open to all those who have responsibility for general or a specific aspect of the environment.
Many employers give responsibility for environmental management to the organisation’s safety advisor or manager. Holding the NEBSOH diploma will provide the holder with the confidence to undertake their role, as well as being an indicator of the competence inside and external to the organisation
