TAUGHT COURSE | Information

This intensive yet informative course has been updated to meet the needs of the new 2020 syllabus. It will now be run over ten days with the one examination on day eleven. The course is run on a day release basis to suit the needs of both student and employer. Delegates are expected to undertake private study and revision outside of the taught lessons.

The course is highly participative with tutor presentations supported by the use of practical exercises, syndicate and group work, video and feedback sessions. Our pass rates consistently exceed the national average.

The course programme (NG1) begins with the legal background to H&S, with both common and statute law explored. From here the concepts of accidents, hazard, risk and risk assessment are examined, giving delegates an opportunity to complete a range of different risk assessments: general, manual handling, display screen equipment and chemical.

The management of health and safety is covered via sessions on the legal framework, H&S management systems, H&S policies and risk assessment. Specific hazards such as radiation, mechanical lifting, construction, fire, electricity, confined spaces etc. are then explored in detail.

Day eleven of each course is spent completing revision and delegates will get the opportunity to practice their exam techniques with a mock examination. The examination is taken in the afternoon of the final course day. The NG2 which is a work based risk assessment must be completed within 7 days of the examination. Full guidance is provided during the course.

Our tutors are all practising health and safety professionals, who have over 25 years experience developing, presenting and examining on the NEBOSH Certificate. They are able to use their practical hands on experience to support their excellent presentational skills, aiming to make the course both informative and interactive.
