5th July 2018   Essential Health and Safety Update

This is a mini version of our popular annual health and safety update session were we will be exploring the recent developments in the field of H&S legislation and best practice. The current implications of the UK leaving the EU and the implications of new working patterns and technology with be explored.

12th July 2018 Machinery Guarding Through the Ages

Along with the industrial revolution came a wide range of mechanical equipment, driven by  steam or even water. Production rates increased with machines taking some of the strain but with other risks from entanglement and crushing with moving parts often  unguarded. Initially concern was for child workers and apprentices before standards of safety were extended to workers.

21st August 2018 IOSH Continuous Professional Development and Skills Development Portfolios (IPD)

This session has been developed in response to delegate enquires regarding their professional development and achieving Corporate Membership of IOSH to become a full Charted Member. For those of you wanting to join new Occupational Safety Consultants Register, the grade of CMIOSH is required to gain entry. This workshop aims to introduce IOSH’s two schemes or give you some momentum if you have made a start but find yourself needing some additional assistance.

IOSH run two schemes which H&S professionals need to undertake, CPD is the one for all new and existing H&S practitioners. The aim of this scheme is to ensure that we all keep up to date with H&S practice, it also encourages skill development outside of the main stream field of H&S i.e. management skills, IT etc. which may all contribute to our overall effectiveness as a H&S practitioner.  The current scheme is managed via the IOSH web site.

22th August 2018 NEBOSH DNI WORKSHOP

This workshop will outline the framework of the work based assessment which needs to be completed by students studying the Nebosh H&S diploma. If you missed your original workshop or want a top up you this is the session for you. This workshop is free for Cambridge Safety delegates and available at £40+VAT for those studying elsewhere.

27th September 2018  An introduction to ISO 45001

With the imminent release of the brand new standard this workshop will introduce the key elements of the new standard which will replace OHSAS18001 which is a lynch pin of many organisations health and safety management systems. ISO 45001 is based on the same high level structure as the quality and environmental management system standards, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015, so for organisations who use those standards the new structure and common features of ISO 45001 will be familiar.
