NEBOSH Health & Safety Management For Construction Certificate

The NEBOSH Construction Certificate is focused solely on the  health and safety issues within the construction industry, with the management of health and safety based around the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015. It is an excellent introduction to construction health and safety management which teaches you how to complete risk assessments, audits, and inspections, as well as how to look out for key health and safety hazards on construction sites and other relevant workplaces.

Course Details

The syllabus has one unit, NC1, the first three units cover management of health and safety focused around CDM 2015 regs, with the following ten units on construction specific hazards and risk controls.

The course is aimed at those within the construction industry who are required to ensure that activities under their control are undertaken safely. It is also useful for those concerned with the management of buildings who may need to ensure that contractors are working safely.

The NEBOSH Construction Certificate is suitable for:

  • Construction Managers, Team Leaders, and Supervisors
  • Estates and Facilities Managers
  • Those involved in the selection of contractors

Those who hold the NEBOSH construction certificate are entitled to become members of a range of professional bodies, including the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).


Only in exceptional circumstances which meet the Nebosh criteria.  All Open Book Exams must now be registered through your own Learning Provider, unless they have ceased trading.

For the e-learning studying components it’s recommended that you spend 108 hours studying, plus the two day assessment. This is a rough guide, so some delegates will complete their studies in a shorter or longer time.

Our NEBOSH construction certificate online is accessible across most devices, including computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones. But due to the amount of detail and information within the elearning package we would always recomend accessing via a tablet or laptop computer.

With the NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction qualification you take one open book exam which is available for a 48 hour period. You will be provided login details and can complete the exam from a safe and secure location of your choice. For those finishing the previous version of this qualification there is still a traditional 2 hour classroom based exam.
