The NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate focuses on Fire Safety and is a stand alone qualification at Certificate level.
The syllabus has two assessments, an Open Book Exam accessed online at home, and a Fire Risk Assessment practical. Delegates have 5 years to pass both units.
Holders of the NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate can help their organisation manage and avoid the risk of fire while also meeting the essential fire safety regulations. Fire safety is important – it not only protects people from injury and loss of life, it also helps protect property, assets and investments.
This NEBOSH qualification is perfect for those who have the responsibility of fire safety in the workplace, health and safety managers, fire marshals and employees in suitable industries. The course is broad and builds an understanding of how to manage and coordinate fire risk assessments.
This course can be studied at our training centre in Hampton, Peterborough or you can learn through our e-learning options.
The NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate qualification is designed for people who have fire safety responsibilities in the workplace. It provides the knowledge and understanding, when combined with relevant experience, to carry out an effective fire risk assessment, as well as embed good fire safety practices in the workplace.
The qualification focuses on fire safety but also explores the risks of explosions, which may be relevant where organisations have quantities of dust, powder, flammable gases or vapours.
Holders of this accredited qualification help their organisation to ensure it meets its fire safety responsibilities.
The course consists of 6 elements :
FSC Fire Safety
The course is centred around two key assessments that evaluate the candidate’s understanding and application of fire safety principles.
By successfully completing both the FSC1 and FSC2 assessments, you can be confident in their ability to identify, assess, and mitigate fire risks, ultimately contributing to a safer and more secure work environment.

This online format is recommended to be completed over the course of 40 to 50 hours, providing you with the flexibility to study at your own convenience while still ensuring you cover the comprehensive curriculum. Since 2002, NEBOSH has been a UK-recognised awarding body and has received an accreditation from the SQA (Awarding Scottish Qualifications Authority) in 2009. This award ensures that NEBOSH meets the correct quality standards, making sure that it is fit for purpose.
Students can move on to do the NEBOSH National Diploma. This diploma is a highly respected and comprehensive qualification that delves deep into the principles and practices of occupational health and safety.
