An informative and interesting course, I have learned a lot and enjoyed the classroom activities. All trainers were great, helpful, enthusiastic, informative and friendly.
This tailor-made course, made up of one full-day and three half-day sessions, gives delegates an awareness of the key principles and techniques of teaching, training and learning. It also gives them the opportunity to develop their training skills and classroom practice before they do it for real, making it a perfect introductory course for beginner tutors.
Like all of our other in-house training courses, it’s suitable for up to 8 delegates. If you’re looking to train a number of your team at once, this course is a cost-effective, engaging and efficient way to do so.

Who is this course for?
Our in-house ‘train the trainer’ course is ideal for anyone required to give presentations or training sessions in the workplace on any topic: it is not restricted to just health and safety issues.
As with our complete range of in-house health and safety courses, it can be completed at our purpose-built training centre in Peterborough. Alternatively, we can travel to your workplace to deliver the training. All you’ll need is a suitable training or conference room for us to use.
What does the course cover?
The course aims to provide delegates with the knowledge of different learning styles and teaching techniques with the confidence to deliver a presentation or training session effectively. We aim to build up their skills over the four sessions of the course.
At the end of the course learners will understand their own role, responsibilities and boundaries in relation to teaching, understand appropriate teaching and learning approaches, be able to demonstrate session planning skills, understand how to deliver inclusive sessions which motivate learners and understand the use of different assessment methods along with the need for record keeping.
The course includes the following segments:
- How adults learn and identifying learning styles
- Developing lesson plans
